FTC issues us a challenge at the start of each season (usually the first week in September) to tell us what our robot has to do.  From that time until our first tournament (the Wisconsin one is at the beginning of February) we have to build a robot out of the materials that we are allowed to use, polycarbonate and aluminum for example, and parts we order from Tetrix.  Those are things like screws, nuts, bronze bushings, motors, axles, and all the other basic parts of our robot.

Our designs can target any part of the challenge we want them to, and can complete them in any way (as long as we aren't breaking any of the rules).
