In preperation for their upcoming qualifying tournament in Hortonville, the eTREC Robotics team has been making significant improvements to their robot and programs. Ben has been hard at work, coding four new autonomous programs. In these programs, the team can shoot two balls into the center vortex, knock the cap ball onto the floor, and park partially on the center platform. Other team members have making improvements to various mechanisms on the robot, including the collection system and the catapult. In regards to the collection system, new zip tie "fingers" have been installed (see photo), and the ramp has been leveled. Coming home from the Milwaukee tournament, the intake ramp was over 1/4" lower on one side than the other. In addition to fixing this, the team adjusted the shooting tube on the catapult to level it, as well as securing it with heavy-duty elastic so it has a spring-loaded shock absorption system. These improvements improved the accuracy of the particle launching system significantly. The team has fully revamped their robot, and it works better than ever!
